This artwork was created by a prompt that required a “narrative twist” within the piece. I decided that the narrative “twist” is that the “pencil” is a sentient creature purposely hiding from its owner. I wanted to showcase the chaos of the person searching their room, desperately trying to find their Apple pencil while it watches from above.

I chose a red and yellow color scheme as it is normally associated with the emotions of anger and anxiety. I wanted my audience to experience the same emotions that the person in the picture is going through. I aimed to showcase the person’s personality through the various objects littered around the room.
